I made this post earlier but due to rush of life I couldn’t post it so here I am today posting it…..
As I said yesterday I’ve been doing a few researches on silk screening and after many ups and downs I found it possible the use of it with polymer clay, thats what I love about polymer clay, you can do practically anything with it, even sewing, oh my, now the polymer clay goddesses please hear me, put up a tutorial on how to sew polymer clay, I’m getting nuts or what?
Well, letting the blurbs off, the silk screening method is a very old one and first appeared in a recognizable form in China during the Song Dynasty (960–1279 AD).
This print technique is also known as screen-printing, silkscreen or serigraphy. It is a stencil technique that employs fabric stretched tight on a screen support frame. The artist blocks out areas on the fabric and applies ink with a squeegee. The ink covers everything except the blocked-out sections and the image appears on the paper, canvas or other surface placed beneath the screen.
I found out Gwen gibson was the one who popularized the technique for use with polymer clay and went like the crazy I am after ”hows to” tutorials, videos, books, whatever I could find and I found it, a lot of information comes with it and I will be putting all up this week or even in a one more time post, now for a very simple demonstration without too much blah, blah, blah I leave this video below for you to take a look and let me know if Im doing good k?
