I’m amazed by the work of Hannie Sarris, she’s a wonderful self taught and experienced sculptor from Netherlands. Hannie explores infinite possibilities, she finds no boundaries in creating her fantasy figures and each one of them comes out with her signature, her personality embedded on it as you can see on the Sculpted Air Dry Clay Fairy Tutorial below.

The basis for the head is a special type of Styrofoam, also used for coffee cups.

Air dry clay does not have to be baked, but the drying process can be speed up by drying it in an oven on appr. 70 degrees celcius.

The best thing for the polymer clay addicts is that this sculpting technique is suitable for air dry clay, and also for some types of polymer clay, like Fimo.

In her sculpting books below you will find all the information and many beautifull and clear sculpting pictures about making a fully sculpted child or adult fairies and mermaids, with proportions, anatomy, materials, paterns, wings and a lot more.

– Fairy Sculpting –

– Fairy Fantasy Dollmaking –
